Program Welcome

Module 1: Foundations of Neuroscience and Behavioral Psychology:

To get the best out of people, you must know what makes them tick. In this module, we take a deep dive into the fields of neuroscience and positive, cognitive, and behavioural psychology to understand how the human brain works and how you can use this knowledge to influence and understand workplace dynamics better.

Module 2: Build your Emotional Intelligence and lead in a more Human-Centred way:

Everyone has emotions; it's a part of being human. And whether we realise it or not, our emotions impact us daily. They also affect those around us in the workplace and our personal lives.

Emotional intelligence is a critical competency that all leaders must have.  It is a set of skills that help us better perceive, understand and manage our emotions and those around us. It helps us identify what makes people feel valued, listened to, cared for, consulted and understood. Emotional intelligence underlies our self-awareness, empathy, leadership and resilience in the workplace.

In this module, we explore the GENOS Emotional intelligence Model, including the six core skills: Self-Awareness, Awareness of Others, Authenticity, Emotional Reasoning, Self-Management, and Positive Influence.

Tuesday 20 February, 9.00 am to 4.30 pm (AEDT)

Module 3: Build Trust and Achieve Extraordinary Results through Human-Centred Communication:

Did you know that 9 out of 10 conversations miss the mark? (Stanford University).

Think about your last ten conversations with your team, customers, clients, and family. If 9 of them did not achieve the desired outcome, what was the impact on you, your people, and your business?   In this module, you will learn the art and science of human-centred conversations and build on the groundbreaking work of Judith E. Glaser (Conversational Intelligence), enabling you to transform your conversations, build trust and achieve extraordinary results.  "Getting to the next level of greatness depends on the quality of the culture, which depends on the quality of the relationships, which depends on the quality of the conversations. Everything happens through conversations" Judith E. Glaser.

Module 4: Employee Engagement and Building a Positive Employee Experience:

Employee engagement represents the levels of enthusiasm employees feel towards their organisations. It captures more than just job satisfaction or feeling happy at work - it's a measure of how motivated people are to put in extra effort and a sign of how committed they are to staying there.

Why is Employee Engagement Important? Highly engaged people provide greater value to the organisation and experience a better quality of life. In a recent survey, Gallup found that companies in the top quartile of employee engagement experience 81% less absenteeism, 23 % higher profitability and 18% higher productivity, as measured in sales.

When companies prioritise employee engagement, employees feel more motivated, proud and connected to both leaders and the company. Even small efforts to boost employee engagement can help attract talent, reduce turnover, improve retention and motivate employees to go above and beyond, allowing your workforce to innovate and remain agile even in times of change.

In this module, we explore innovative techniques to motivate and engage your team, fostering a high-performance culture and a positive employee experience for your people.

Monday 18 March, 9.00 am to 4.30 pm (AEDT)

Module 5: Human-Centered HR:

As a small-medium sized or family business, you are often required to wear many hats. Not only are you responsible for strategic oversight and leadership of your business, but you are also heavily involved in day-to-day tasks and operations, especially regarding HR.

HR is defined by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as 'the process of managing an organisation's employees to meet an organisation's goals effectively'. It includes everything from recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, payroll, employee engagement, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, rewards and recognition, creating company culture, training and development, industrial relations to managing conflict, workforce and succession planning.

This module covers various HR topics to help you navigate this complex area in a practical, compliant, human-centred way.

🛠️ You will also receive tools and templates (including policies and procedures) to help you manage your HR requirements.

Module 6: Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging:

A diverse and inclusive workplace is essential in today's fast-paced business world. Diversity and inclusion in leadership create an environment where all employees can bring their authentic selves to their work, feel valued and respected and have a sense of purpose and belonging, leading to increased productivity and employee engagement.

Diversity and Inclusion in leadership has many benefits to business, including but not limited to:

  • Increased innovation and creativity
  • Improve employee engagement and retention.
  • Improved decision-making
  • Enhanced reputation

In this module, we explore what diversity (including neurodiversity) and inclusion in leadership mean and how you can create a diverse and inclusive environment for your people.

🛠️ We will also build a diversity and inclusion strategy for your business

Tuesday 19 March, 9.00 am to 4.30 pm (AEST)

Module 7: Workplace Safety:

Understanding and navigating your Work Health and Safety requirements can be challenging. With the inclusion of psychosocial risks in work health and safety legislation in 2023, many small, medium, and family-owned business leaders have reported feeling overwhelmed and confused by what they must do.

This module covers your legal obligations as an 'Officer' under WHS legislation and the importance of a physically and psychologically safe workplace. We explore simple yet effective risk management strategies and how to build a legally compliant, physically and psychologically safe workplace.

🛠️ You will also receive tools, templates (including policies and procedures) and guides to help you manage your WHS requirements.

Module 8: Leading Change:

Change in business is a normal and essential part of business, yet it can also be one of the most challenging parts of running a business as people react to change differently.

This module explores change and how to implement effective, human-centred change management in your business. You will learn to prepare for change and how to lead and manage your business successfully through times of change to ensure a smooth transition, strengthen your business and help you retain your staff.

🛠️ You will also receive a change management toolkit to help you plan, prepare and execute change in your business.

Monday 15 April, 9.00 am to 4.30 pm (AEST)

Module 9: Managing Remote Teams:

Leading a high-performing team can be challenging even in the best circumstances and when everyone is 'under one roof'. When team members are working from other office locations, working from home, scattered geographically and separated culturally, the task of managing remote teams is even more challenging,

This module will teach you crucial skills for effectively managing and motivating remote teams in Today's shifting business landscape. Topics we will cover include, but are not limited to:

  • Hiring and onboarding remote team members
  • Managing remote teams
  • Communicating with remote teams
  • Ways to keep remote employees engaged and motivated
  • Team building for remote workers
  • How to boost morale

Module 10: Psychological Safety - Defigning the path to inclusion and innovation.

Psychological Safety is defined as a 'culture of rewarded vulnerability'. Just like humans need water, food and shelter to survive, teams that want to innovate need four things to thrive: to feel included and safe to learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.

In this module, we explore the 4 Stages of Psychological Safety™ framework developed by Timothy R Clarke and show you how you can build a culture of psychological safety in your business and create an environment where employees can be vulnerable and thrive.

🛠️ You will also receive a copy of Timothy R. Clarke's - The 4 Stages of Psychological Safety Book.

Tuesday 16 April, 9.00 am to 4.30 pm (AEST)

Module 11: Human-Centered Coaching for High Performance:

Human-Centred Coaching® for high-performance is a cutting-edge, human-centred approach to coaching developed by our Founder and Chief Enabling Officer and your course facilitator, Deanne Boules.

In this module, we will explore what human-centred coaching is and how you can apply our human-centred coaching principles to your business to enable and empower your people and your business to thrive.

🛠️ You will also receive a copy of Deanne's book - The Human-Centred Coach - Empowering Leaders, Inspiring Change, A Human-Centred Approach to Building High Performance.

Module 12:  Taking Care of Your Health and Wellbeing: You must be mentally and physically well to perform at your best. In this module, our guest facilitator will explore the importance of building resilience and caring for your mental and physical health.
