Emotional Intelligence also involves our perception of others. When we understand how others are feeling it enables us to manage those relationships more effectively. This is why Emotional Intelligence is considered a critical skill that leaders and in fact everyone in the workplace should have.

The Mindful Leader Program is a powerful one-day leadership program bringing together the latest developments in Neuroscience, Mindfulness & Emotional Intelligence. Leaders who practice mindfulness, & apply mindfulness techniques to their leadership of others, are better equipped to cope with everyday leadership challenges & create high performance in others. 

During this program, participants will improve their understanding of emotions & emotional intelligence. They will also explore & practise tools & techniques for applying mindfulness as a means to improve the quality of their leadership.

IGNITE EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM

Game Changing for Business, Life Changing for People

Ignite helps professionals develop emotional intelligence skills & improve their impact, influence, leadership & resilience. The tools & techniques covered area applicable both within the workplace & outside, making the program game-changing for business & life-changing for people. 

Combining learning methodologies with a learning-journey structure, participants experience enduring improvements in their emotional intelligence. There are six core modules of the program. Each session, delivered in two-hour professionally facilitated format, includes relevant pre-work, cutting edge research, experiential scenarios & on-the-job applications.

SESSION 1 - EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT LEADERSHIP

In this session, participants will:

  • Explore the neuroscience of emotions & emotional intelligence

  • Analyse emotionally intelligent leadership behaviours & the impact these can have

  • Identify events that can cause positive & negative decisions & behaviours in others

  • Determine a personal development goal for the program

SESSION 2 - INSIGHT & FEEDBACK

In this session, participants will: 

  • Reflect on & discuss, approaches taken & outcomes from, doing the learning assignment from the previous module of the program

  • Review their emotional intelligence assessment (completed in Session 1)  & identify actions they could take on that basis

  • Explore & practice applying an approach for responding to feedback

SESSION 3 - BEHAVIOURAL AGILITY

In this session, participants will: 

  • Reflect on & discuss, approaches taken & outcomes from, doing the learning assignment from session 2

  • Evaluate models & concepts for improving our Self-Other Awareness

  • Identify how they can use enhanced Self-Other Awareness to demonstrate situational leadership, where they take an approach best suited to the type of person & situation they are leading in

SESSION 4 - AUTHENTICITY

In this session, participants will: 

  • Reflect on & discuss, approaches taken & outcomes from, doing the learning assignment from session 3

  • Explore what 'effective' & 'ineffective emotional expression' looks like

  • Evaluate models & techniques for the facilitation of Authentic Conversations

  • Practise applying these tools & techniques with each other

SESSION 5 - BUILDING RESILIENCE

In this session, participants will: 

  • Explore things they can do to build their personal resilience & practise a mindfulness mediation exercise

  • Analyse a reactive technique they can implement to help them effectively respond to strong emotions when they arise

  • Practise applying an approach they can take through conversation to help someone find the best possible response to make a difficult situation

SESSION 6 - INSPIRING PERFORMANCE

In this session, participants will: 

  • Compare their Time 1 and Time 2 assessment results & determine how they can maintain & build on the outcomes of the program

  • Explore the final competency of emotionally intelligent leadership - Inspiring Performance - and identify opportunities to do so with their team

  • Practise applying an approach to help boost employee motivation & engagement
